RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument

January 29, 2010

One cause of this error message appear, is the identification error on Network ID. Usually when we route a network with the command “ip route” on linux.

e.g.

~ # ip route add 204.231.251.0/23 blackhole

RTNETLINK answers: Invalid argument

Why this?

[204.231.251.0] it is not a Network ID, and the truth is [204.231.250.0].

So, the format to be like this.

~ # ip route add 204.231.250.0/23 blackhole
